How to Add HYPED to MetaMask on Polygon, Step by Step

The short version. In MetaMask, switch to Polygon and import a custom token with HYPED's contract. Then copy your MetaMask address, not the contract, into Profile in the Hype Network app. From 10,000 HYPED you can withdraw, and it arrives within 72 hours.

What you need

MetaMask, the mobile app or the browser extension, installed from the official store or metamask.io.
A pen and paper for your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Step 1: Create your wallet

Open MetaMask and create a new wallet. Write your Secret Recovery Phrase on paper and keep it offline. Anyone with it controls your wallet, so never share it: Hype Network will never ask for it.

Step 2: Switch to Polygon

Open the network menu and choose Polygon from the list of popular networks (it may be called Polygon Mainnet). If it isn't listed, add it by hand:

Step 3: Import HYPED

With Polygon selected, open the Tokens tab and tap Import tokens.
Choose Custom token and make sure the network is Polygon.
Paste the HYPED contract:

MetaMask fills in the symbol, HYPED, by itself. Tap Next, then Import.

MetaMask may warn that anyone can create a token. That is a general notice for every custom token: what matters is that the contract matches the one above. Your HYPED balance shows 0 until your first withdrawal arrives.

Step 4: Put your address in Hype Network

Tap your account name at the top of MetaMask to copy your address. It starts with 0x. In the Hype Network app, set it as your withdrawal address in Profile, or paste it when you withdraw.

Paste your own address, never the token contract: HYPED sent to the contract can't be recovered.

Step 5: Withdraw

Once you have at least 10,000 HYPED, withdraw in whole HYPED. Every request is reviewed, then sent within 72 hours, and the HYPED appears in MetaMask on Polygon. You can follow it on-chain with our Polygonscan guide.

If HYPED doesn't show

Wrong network? Switch MetaMask to Polygon: a token added on another network won't show your Polygon balance.
Wrong contract? Remove the token and import it again with the contract above.
Still pending? Check the withdrawal's status in the app. It is sent within 72 hours.

Receiving HYPED is free. To send it onward from MetaMask, you need a little POL, Polygon's gas token (formerly MATIC), for the network fee.
